Role 

You’ll oversee and manage the Wild supply chain, from purchasing, manufacturing, to delivery of the goods to our fulfilment centre. 

You will manage our suppliers, be responsible for stock ordering and control, you’ll ensure the correct amount of product is made at the right time, organising the movement of goods to/from suppliers. You will have responsibility for forecasting trends, creating business and stock reports and managing inventories. In addition, you will work closely with the Head of Operations and our NPD Manager to ensure any NPD products transition from launch phase to BAU. 

You will be involved in sourcing suppliers, negotiation and managing suppliers through the whole procurement process. You will also deal with other factors such as sustainability, risk management and ethical issues. Your work will help our business save money, minimise waste and maximise profits.

You will report into Head of Operations.

Responsibilities

Procurement, Demand Planning & Reporting

  • Produce regular, accurate and actionable stock (components and products) reports in order to drive business decisions
  • Forecast levels of demand for products including partnering with Sales and Marketing to manage SKU level forecast
  • Monitor product performance to deliver dynamic forward rate of sale and production planning
  • Source components, products and 3rd party suppliers/manufacturers in terms of sustainability, best value, delivery schedules and quality
  • Evaluate commercial proposals and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors, negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided
  • Manage, build and maintain good relationships with new and existing 3rd party suppliers and contract manufacturers with regular communication and meetings as required
  • Manage the product and component ordering process with 3rd party suppliers and contract manufacturers, raising POs, production scheduling and reporting
  • Ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services
  • Monitor key metrics to increase sales and margin across channels, forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
  • Review COGs and actively seek ways to improve margin, analyse data and produce reports and statistics on spending and saving

Supply chain

  • Control manufacturing and delivery processes
  • Work with the Operations Manager who manages Wild’s third party fulfilment centre and retail operations to ensure our 3PL holds sufficient stock to fulfil DTC and retail orders
  • Ensure you’re aware of exactly what is happening throughout the supply chain
  • Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process
  • Manage and minimise the risks (for example operational or reputational) that could affect or interrupt the supply chain
  • Consider the environmental impact of the supply chain in order to meet sustainability targets
  • Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of Supply Chain, Procurement or Demand Planning experience at a similar level
  • Ideally 2 – 3 years industry experience gained in Skincare, Bodycare, Beauty or FMCG
  • Degree, Further Education qualification desirable
  • Experience of working with 3rd party component and packaging suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Knowledge of ERP systems set up and implementation, use of Brightpearl system useful
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office or GoogleSheets, with emphasis on Excel
  • You are highly numerate and enjoy putting systems and processes in place
  • You are exceedingly well-organized, detail oriented, with an eye for detail
  • You are action orientated and great at executing your to do list 
  • You thrive in a busy environment, able to juggle and prioritize a varied workload
  • You enjoy being a part of a small, dynamic and agile team that encourages you to learn and grow
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills both internally and externally, as well as strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • You love finding solutions to interesting problems and figuring out how things work
  • You welcome having autonomy with complex tasks and be able to operate confidently and proactively within a fast-paced environment
